About the Global Conscious Food Systems Summit 2026

The Global Conscious Food Systems Summit 2026 marks the first global event of its kind, focusing on the critical role of consciousness, values, culture, spirituality, and inner transformation in cultivating sustainable, equitable, and regenerative food systems worldwide. The summit is a collaborative initiative, jointly hosted by the Royal Government of Bhutan, the Conscious Food Systems Alliance (CoFSA), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Operating under the compelling theme, “Activating the Heart of Food Systems Transformation,” the summit aims to inspire new approaches and solutions to the complex challenges facing global food security and environmental sustainability.

Upon her arrival at Paro International Airport, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya received a warm and cordial reception. She was greeted by a delegation of high-ranking officials, including the Prime Minister of Bhutan, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade of Bhutan, and the Minister for Education and Skills Development of Bhutan. Also present were the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Bangladesh, the Ambassador of Bhutan to Sri Lanka, and senior officials from the Royal Government of Bhutan and the UNDP Country Office in Bhutan, signifying the importance placed on her visit.

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya is scheduled to play a prominent role as a high-level speaker at the Opening Plenary of the Global Conscious Food Systems Summit today, September 01, 2026.
