The company reported a staggering 268.2% increase in profit for the period, reaching Rs. 130.08 million, up from Rs. 35.33 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

The interim financial statements, released on the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) on 12th August 2026, reveal a robust start to the new financial year.
Revenue Streams See Significant Uplift
Samson International PLC’s total revenue for the quarter soared by 40.9% to Rs. 913.69 million, compared to Rs. 648.50 million in Q1 FY2026. This growth was fueled by strong performance across both its export and local markets:
- Export Revenue: Increased by an impressive 43.1% to Rs. 541.82 million (Q1 FY2026: Rs. 378.73 million).
- Local Revenue: Saw a substantial rise of 37.8% to Rs. 371.87 million (Q1 FY2026: Rs. 269.77 million).
The company’s core business, primarily the manufacture and export of rubber and PVC-based products, continues to be a key driver of this exceptional top-line expansion.
Profitability Margins Expand Sharply
The remarkable revenue growth translated into even more significant gains in profitability:
- Gross Profit: Witnessed a 76.0% increase, reaching Rs. 279.68 million (Q1 FY2026: Rs. 158.93 million). This indicates improved cost management and possibly better pricing power.
- Operating Profit: Showed a phenomenal surge of 145.3% to Rs. 148.76 million (Q1 FY2026: Rs. 60.63 million), highlighting enhanced operational efficiency.
- Profit Before Income Tax: Skyrocketed by 241.4% to Rs. 129.09 million (Q1 FY2026: Rs. 37.81 million).
Consequently, the Basic Earnings Per Share (EPS) for the quarter reflected this robust performance, rising to Rs. 30.73 from Rs. 8.35 in the previous year, marking a 268.2% increase.
Segmental and Financial Position Highlights
From a segmental perspective, both Rubber Items and PVC Items contributed positively to the overall turnover and gross profit, with rubber items showing a higher contribution to gross profit. The company’s Statement of Financial Position also reflected an improved outlook:
- Total Assets: Increased to Rs. 2.13 billion as at 30th June 2026, from Rs. 1.77 billion a year ago.
- Total Equity: Grew significantly to Rs. 781.30 million (Q1 FY2026: Rs. 312.71 million), demonstrating strengthening shareholder value.
- Net Assets Value per Share: Rose substantially to Rs. 184.58 as at 30th June 2026, compared to Rs. 65.53 on the same date last year.
