FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – Sri Lanka’s Colombo Stock Exchange opened up on Tuesday, a day after US President Donald Trump claimed he was pausing attacks on Iran infrastructure.
The All Share Price Index was up 3.31 percent, or 674.80 points, at 21,039.77.
The S&P SL20 was up 3.57 percent, or 202.93 points, at 5,889.75.
Top positive contributors included Commercial Bank of Ceylon, which rose by 5.49 percent to Rs.201.75, Sampath Bank, increasing by 2.98 percent to Rs.155.75, Melstacorp, up by 2.14 percent to Rs.167.00, and DFCC Bank, which saw an increase of 4.45 percent to Rs.135.00.
Market turnover reached 1.53 billion rupees.
DFCC Bank announced that it had listed 12,310,834 ordinary voting shares, following a scrip dividend, at a ratio of 1 to 35.6112550944. The stock was up 5.75 points at 135 rupees.
