Cap Snap Lanka Achieves Six Global Certifications, Highlighting ISO-FSSC Accreditation

Cap Snap Lanka Pvt. Ltd., part of the CSL Group, has recently achieved a significant milestone by obtaining six internationally recognized certifications, including the Food Safety System Certification (FSSC 22000). This accomplishment was celebrated at a ceremony in Colombo, where it was highlighted that all certifications were attained within a remarkable timeframe of just six months, demonstrating the company’s dedication to quality, safety, and operational excellence.

The certifications were presented by Shan Nanayakkara, the Country General Manager of Bureau Veritas Sri Lanka, along with his team, in the presence of Cap Snap Lanka’s leadership. The event featured a detailed presentation on the company’s history and operations, followed by a corporate video that illustrated its 20-year evolution in the plastics and rigid packaging sector. Chief Operating Officer Rizwan Jalill was also in attendance. The certifications were formally handed over to key figures including Chairman Anura Kumarasinghe, Managing Director M.H.M. Fazal, Group Chief Executive Officer Farih Fazal, and Group Consultant Hugh Indrajith. The certifications awarded to the company include ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management, ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), ISO 22000:2018 for Food Safety Management, and FSSC 22000 Version 6, which complies with GFSI Food Safety standards.

During the ceremony, 14 departments that played a crucial role in the certification process were recognized with Appreciation Awards. These departments included Production (IM and SBM), Stores, Warehouse and Logistics, Maintenance, Engineering Workshop, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, Finance, Human Resources, Factory Administration, Quality Assurance, Quality Compliance, and Digital Marketing. The event also acknowledged the contributions of internal auditors with Excellence Awards, which were given to Certified Internal Auditors for their compliance with ISO-FSSC standards. Directors Fayaz Fazal, Asitha Kumarasinghe, Asha Kumarasinghe, and Group Company Secretary Firoze Sameer presented awards to several noteworthy recipients.

A commemorative plaque recognizing the partnership between CSL Group and Bureau Veritas Sri Lanka was awarded to Shan Nanayakkara and his team, while another plaque was given to Rasitha Niroshana and his team in gratitude for their collaboration with Halcyon Lanka.

Founded in June 2003, Cap Snap Lanka is a prominent manufacturer of plastic packaging, providing both standard and customized solutions. The company produces a variety of products, including PET bottles and containers, polypropylene and polycarbonate bottles, caps, lids, and PET preforms. Its subsidiary, American Polymers, offers rigid packaging solutions to various sectors, such as paints, pharmaceuticals, dairy, beverages, and detergents.
