Hayleys Solar Finalizes 800kW Solar Initiative for LSEG in Sri Lanka

Hayleys Solar, recognized as Sri Lanka’s leading provider of solar energy solutions, has successfully finalized an 800kW rooftop solar project for the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG). This achievement is a notable advancement in the nation’s corporate renewable energy sector.

The installation, completed in just two months, spans six buildings and incorporates 1,412 high-efficiency solar panels. It is projected to produce approximately 1,250 MWh of clean energy each year, fulfilling nearly 80% of LSEG’s daytime electricity requirements. Furthermore, this initiative is expected to reduce carbon emissions by around 850 tonnes annually, which is comparable to taking nearly 185 petrol vehicles off the roads each year or planting over 14,000 fully grown trees.

The project required intricate engineering solutions, including extensive underground cabling at an active corporate location. Hayleys Solar accomplished this installation without any accidents, adhering to rigorous safety and operational standards throughout the process.

Roshane Perera, Executive Director and CEO of Hayleys Solar, commented on the significance of the project: “Collaborations with organizations that prioritize ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles are crucial for expediting Sri Lanka’s shift towards sustainable energy. We appreciate LSEG’s confidence in Hayleys Solar. This initiative is centered on delivering dependable and sustainable energy solutions that empower Sri Lankan enterprises to thrive on the global stage while minimizing their carbon footprint.”

Feroz Cader, Group Director at LSEG and Site Lead in Malabe, remarked: “As a premier provider of financial market infrastructure, offering financial data, analytics, news, and indices across over 170 countries, LSEG is committed to its environmental responsibilities. This partnership with Hayleys Solar represents a pivotal milestone in our ongoing sustainability efforts.”
