Sri Lanka’s WindForce commissions 432.2kWp solar project in Maldives

WindForce, a Sri Lanka-based renewable energy company, has announced the successful commissioning of a 432.2 kWp rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) power project at Joy Island in the Maldives. The project was completed as an Engineering, Procurement, and Commissioning (EPC) contract.

According to the company, WindForce was responsible for the engineering design, procurement, and commissioning of the solar installation. The total project cost amounted to 321,000 US dollars.

“In line with the client’s revised requirements, the project capacity and consequently the total project cost was increased from the initial announcement,” the company stated in a filing to the stock exchange.

The project, located on Joy Island, Kassanfushi, Kaafu Atoll, was officially commissioned on December 13, 2025.
