Sri Win Lanka Travels (Pvt) Ltd, a diversified travel company, recently honored its long-standing sub-agents at its head office in Hildon Place, Bambalapitiya, Colombo. This event was organized to recognize their significant contributions to the company’s growth.

Founder Tharindu Idunil highlighted the pivotal role these sub-agents have played in facilitating outbound travel for local businessmen, especially in the realms of business travel, overseas employment, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism. According to Idunil, the sub-agents have been a cornerstone of the company’s success, and the event served as an opportunity to honor and reward their unwavering support.

Idunil also noted the sub-agents’ instrumental role in enabling the company to send over 200 Sri Lankans to the Canton Fair, China’s largest and oldest international trade exhibition held in Guangzhou. The biannual China Import and Export Fair showcases a vast array of products from thousands of Chinese and international companies, presenting entrepreneurs with opportunities to forge new business connections and expand their ventures.

Addressing the recent floods that disrupted many businesses, Idunil emphasized the value of participating in the Canton Fair. He suggested that affected entrepreneurs could benefit significantly by forming new partnerships and importing products directly from China at competitive prices, aiding in the rethinking and restarting of their operations. Idunil cited several cases where businessmen who attended the fair expanded their operations and opened new branches by applying the knowledge and insights gained.

Sri Win Lanka Travels is committed to facilitating direct connections with suppliers and arranging visits to manufacturing facilities, enabling participants to gather firsthand information about products they intend to import. Annually, the company escorts around 200 Sri Lankan visitors to the Canton Fair, with participants consistently reporting positive business developments. Idunil added that even individuals who have yet to start a business can derive ideas and inspiration from the exposure the fair provides.
