Vega Innovations Unveils Sri Lanka’s First Indigenous eVTOL Aircraft: Redefining Aerial Mobility

Colombo, Sri Lanka – Vega Innovations, a pioneering technology company, is proud to announce a historic milestone for Sri Lanka: the development of the nation’s first electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft, designed, developed, and manufactured entirely in Sri Lanka.

This groundbreaking achievement marks a significant leap forward in Sri Lanka’s aviation industry, showcasing the country’s capabilities in advanced engineering and innovation. The eVTOL aircraft is currently undergoing rigorous testing with a 100 kg payload, prioritizing safety and autonomous functionality.

Key highlights of this revolutionary aircraft include:

•⁠ ⁠Affordable Aerial Mobility: Flying cost per human expected to be less than Rs. 40 per kilometer (≈ USD 0.13 per km), making it accessible for everyday use.
•⁠ ⁠Rapid Recharge: Aircraft recharges in under 45 minutes, enabling high utilization and commercial viability.
•⁠ ⁠Sri Lankan Innovation: Developed at a fraction of global costs, demonstrating Sri Lanka’s potential in world-class aviation technology.
