Sri Lanka’s Manufacturing and Services Sectors Experience Growth in December 2025

The Sri Lanka Purchasing Managers’ Index for Manufacturing (PMI – Manufacturing) registered an index value of 60.9 in December 2025, reflecting a sustained growth in manufacturing activities. This increase was driven by all sub-indices contributing positively, primarily bolstered by seasonal demand, despite experiencing disruptions due to adverse weather conditions at the beginning of the month.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Purchasing Managers’ Index for Services (PMI – Services) achieved an index value of 67.9 in December 2025, marking a significant expansion in service activities compared to the previous month.
