FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – On Thursday, Sri Lanka’s rupee closed at 309.75/85 against the US dollar in the spot market, a slight depreciation from the previous day’s rate of 309.72/80, according to dealers. Meanwhile, bond yields experienced a downturn.

The yield on a bond maturing on December 15, 2026, closed at 8.35/45 percent, decreasing from 8.40/50 percent. Conversely, the bond maturing on March 15, 2028, saw an increase, closing at 9.08/12 percent, up from 9.03/08 percent.

The bond maturing on September 15, 2029, closed at 9.60/63 percent. The bond maturing on March 15, 2031, remained unchanged, closing at 9.95/10.00 percent. Additionally, the bond maturing on October 15, 2032, closed at 10.28/32 percent.

A bond maturing on June 1, 2033, also remained flat, closing at 10.65/70 percent. Lastly, the bond maturing on June 15, 2035, experienced a slight decrease, closing at 11.00/04 percent, down from 11.03/06 percent.
