Sri Lankan Rupee Declines as Bond Yields Hold Steady

On Monday, Sri Lanka’s rupee was quoted weaker at 309.30/40 against the US dollar in the spot market, compared to 309.25/35 on Friday, continuing its depreciation over recent weeks, according to dealers.

The yield on a bond maturing on June 15, 2029, was quoted at 9.54/58 percent. For a bond maturing on September 15, 2029, the yield was quoted at 9.50/65 percent, showing an increase from the previous 9.55/62 percent.

The yield for a bond maturing on March 15, 2031, remained unchanged at 9.90/10.00 percent. Meanwhile, a bond maturing on June 1, 2033, was quoted at 10.62/70 percent.

Lastly, the yield on a bond maturing on June 15, 2035, was quoted at 10.87/95 percent, a slight change from the previous 10.90/93 percent.
