Sri Lanka Secures Additional Rs42.18bn in Treasury Bill Sales Post-Auction

FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – Sri Lanka’s public debt management office has announced the sale of treasury bills amounting to 42,183 million rupees through a tap issue. The average rates for these sales were recorded at 7.80 percent, 8.17 percent, and 8.33 percent, increasing the total treasury bills sold this week to 132 billion rupees.

The debt office successfully sold 3-month bills at an average rate of 7.80 percent, 6-month bills at 8.17 percent, and 12-month bills at 8.33 percent. The total market subscription for these treasury bills reached 158,884 million rupees.

Earlier, on Tuesday, the debt office had raised 89.81 billion rupees through the sale of 3, 6, and 12-month bills.

The date of settlement for these transactions is set for February 6. (Colombo/Feb6/2026)
