Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath Embarks on Mission to Bolster Economic and Political Ties with Germany

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism Vijitha Herath is set to visit Germany from February 26-27, 2026. The visit comes in response to an invitation from the German-Asia Pacific Business Association’s Bremen Chapter (OAV) and will focus on trade and foreign employment discussions.

The Minister will participate as the Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker from Asia at the 125th Anniversary of the Bremen Chapter of the Asia Pacific Business Association. Dr. Johann Wadephul, the Foreign Minister of Germany, will also attend as the Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker from Germany. The OAV, the largest German association dedicated to fostering German-Asian business relations, connects German business leaders and policymakers with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region.

During his visit, Minister Herath is scheduled to engage in discussions with Minister Wadephul and take part in a business roundtable focused on Sri Lanka.
