CSE Begins February with a Decline

On February 2nd, the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed a notable decline as major indices closed lower amidst moderate trading activity. The benchmark All Share Price Index (ASPI) dropped by 130.63 points, or approximately 0.55%, concluding the day at 23,681.68. In parallel, the S&P SL20 Index, which monitors the top 20 companies by market capitalization, decreased by 43.95 points, ending at 6,597.20.

Despite the downward trend in prices, the day’s trading saw a total turnover of Rs. 5.17 billion, indicating sustained investor participation.
