FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – Sri Lanka’s cabinet of ministers has given the green light for a proposal to enter into an agreement with Finland to create a political consultation mechanism, according to Minister Nalinda Jayatissa.

“A Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries has been proposed, aiming to promote and strengthen relations across political, economic, educational, environmental, consular, and cultural sectors,” Jayatissa informed reporters.

This initiative will also facilitate the exchange of views on regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest, he added.

Sri Lanka and Finland have maintained diplomatic relations since 1954.
