During a recent visit to the Philippines, the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka engaged in bilateral discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation in education, skills development, and agricultural research. The visit, which took place from March 9 to 11, was centered on fostering collaboration in these key areas, according to a government statement.
Harini Amarasuriya, who led the delegation, met with the Philippines’ Secretary of Education, Sonny Angara. The discussions focused on “strengthening bilateral cooperation in the education sector, including sharing best practices in education policy, teacher training, curriculum reforms, and digital learning initiatives.”
Amarasuriya also provided an update on Sri Lanka’s ongoing education reforms, which are focused on modernizing curricula and integrating technology into the learning process.
The meetings underscored the shared commitment of Sri Lanka and the Philippines, alongside international research institutions, to bolster collaboration in education, skills development, and agricultural research.
